In plain English, that heat-and-cool step turns thin, quickly resorbed PRF into a gel with enough structure to gently fill, so it works as a natural-derived alternative to synthetic filler while it also builds skin quality over time. One level deeper: liquid PRF is excellent for skin quality but too thin to replace lost volume on its own; the process names its heat and cool steps and produces a gel that, once injected, gives structure for roughly four to six months while collagen support continues longer. How long does the volume last?
EZ Gel's volumizing effect is temporary, typically lasting roughly four to six months, while its regenerative, collagen-supporting effect continues longer. Because the volume fades, plans are often built as a series with maintenance. Longevity figures are commonly cited from clinical use rather than large trials, and individual outcomes vary with your skin, age, and lifestyle.
Is there downtime, and does it hurt?
Downtime is minimal, but expect mild swelling, redness, and possible bruising for a few days; under-eye swelling is often most noticeable the next morning and settles within 24 to 72 hours. There is a brief pinch at the blood draw and small pinches or pressure at the injection points, with numbing to keep it well-tolerated. The visit runs longer than a standard PRF injection because of the processing step.
Is EZ Gel a replacement for filler?
No, and we are careful not to position it that way. EZ Gel gives subtle volume plus skin-quality gains; it does not match HA filler for meaningful, structured volume correction like deep folds or cheek projection.
