Daxxify vs. Botox

House of Rose offers Daxxify and Botox for movement-related lines. Each product defines potency in its own units, so the unit count for one cannot be converted into the other. Formulation, labeled evidence, anatomy, and the treatment plan all belong in the comparison. See all treatment comparisons for the other reviewed pairs.

The main difference

The products use different, non-interchangeable units.

Botox contains onabotulinumtoxinA in a formulation with human albumin. Daxxify contains daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm with the 35-amino-acid peptide excipient RTP004. Each label defines potency in units specific to that product, so a unit count cannot be converted from one to the other.

What still matters

Duration numbers only make sense with their study endpoints.

For moderate-to-severe glabellar lines, the Daxxify SAKURA trials reported about 24 weeks to their measured endpoint. A pooled Botox analysis reported 120 days among people who had responded by day 30. Those figures come from separate studies with different definitions rather than one head-to-head test.

Daxxify

Daxxify is daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm and uses the peptide excipient RTP004 in its formulation.

Botox

Botox is onabotulinumtoxinA and includes human albumin and sodium chloride in its formulation.

Both products are available through the Neurotoxin Injections service.

Sources & limits

Where these numbers come from.

The duration figures come from separate studies with different products and study designs. They are not a dose-conversion table, a direct head-to-head trial, or a promise about an individual result.

Questions

What people ask about these two options.

Can Daxxify and Botox units be converted?

No. Daxxify and Botox units are product-specific and cannot be converted. Product selection, dose, and placement are determined for the individual treatment plan.

What do the duration figures actually compare?

They report product-specific glabellar-line study results: about 24 weeks to the measured Daxxify endpoint in SAKURA and 120 days among day-30 Botox responders in a pooled analysis. The studies used different endpoints and were not a head-to-head trial. Individual duration varies.

What do the sources say about onset and downtime?

The Daxxify SAKURA trials reported a median 3 days to subject-rated improvement of at least 1 point. The Botox Cosmetic label says chemical denervation typically begins 1 to 2 days after injection and increases during the first week. These are different measures. Both labels describe possible adverse reactions, but neither supplies a universal downtime period.
